Conference Information 2003

This year's conference was Alhamdulillah another great success. There was recitation from the Holy Qur'an, Naats and inspirational speeches in English and Urdu by many of the attending Ulema and Mashaaikh. May Allah accept the efforts and sacrifice of all those who gave their time and support in organising and conducting this programme for the benefit of the youth of the UK and abroad. May Allah enable these efforts to be a means of salvation for all involved, their families, relatives, friends and indeed all of mankind. Ameen.

Annually since 1998 in the grounds of the Islamic University of Madinatul Uloom al Islamiyah, Kidderminister, United Kingdom, a conference has been taking place entitled ‘Youth Tarbiyah Conference.’

This conference aims to reform the Muslim youth by providing them with an opportunity to benefit from the intellectual input and spiritual guidance of the Ulama over a period of three days in the serene and tranquil surroundings of Madinatul Uloom. The University is situated in the rural countryside of Kidderminister.

To get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives for a few days and spend time in a purely Islamic environment is a great means of strengthening ones iman (belief), increasing ones knowledge and benefiting from the company of the pious. Last year over eight thousand people attended the conference, making this probably the largest Islamic gathering in the United Kingdom.

Over the years Ulama from around the globe have delivered lectures on a wide range of topics. Some of the topics covered during last year’s conference included:

· Practicing Islam in Today’s Society
· A’mal
· Seerah of the Prophet (saw)
· The Status of Women in Islam
· The Terrorism Act 2000
· The Days of Fitnah & Hope for the Believers

There is no charge for the conference with accommodation & meals provided free. All you need to do is bring yourself and your bedding.

While you are there you will be able to purchase a large variety of Islamic goods including audio lectures, books, clothing and itr. Additional food and drink stalls will be open throughout the conference.

Due to the numbers attending it would be impossible to maintain hijab hence this is a brothers only event. For the sisters, a separate conference will take place soon after the Youth Tarbiyah Conference at the Islamic University in Bradford. From the South West
Leave M5 at Junction 6 and take the A449 towards Kidderminster. At Hartlebury, fork right under the railway bridge on to the A450 to Birmingham and Stourbridge. Go straight over a small roundabout. After about half a mile you will see a blue house on the left and a concealed entrance to Heath Lane after it. Madinatul Uloom is a few hundred yards on the right.

From Birmingham and the North West
Leave M5 at Junction 3. Take the A456 (Kidderminster) until you reach Hagley. Take the left fork at the garage onto A450 heading towards Worcester. Proceed for 5 miles until you reach the Mustow Green roundabout. Go straight over roundabout, still on the A450 to Worcester. Less than 1 mile along this road you will see a phonebox. Turn right into Heath Lane. After it you will find Madinatul Uloom is a few hundred yards on the right.

From East Midlands and the North East
Take the M42 south towards the M5. Leave motorway at junction 1 and follow signs for Bromsgrove Town Centre. In Bromsgrove pick up the A448 to Kidderminster. At Mustow Green roundabout turn left on to the A450 (towards Worcester). Less than 1 mile along this road you will see a phonebox. After this turn right into Heath Lane and Madinatul Uloom is a few hundred yards on the right.

Listed below are a few methods by which you can help to promote the Youth Tarbiyah Conference. As well as those below the most successful method is one through word of mouth.

Posters
Posters are readily available at no cost from the Islamic Shariah Institute. Obtain free copies by either writing in or e-mailing the Islamic Shariah Institute, please make sure you include your address and number of copies required. Alternatively, download the posters by right clicking on the links below and save the file on your computer and then print off the posters yourself. Posters should be put up in prominent locations which may include the following as well as other suitable places frequented by Muslim youth:

· Masajid
· Fast food outlets
· Local gyms or sports venues such as a snooker hall
· Shops
· Your House

Flyers
In early June leaflets advertising the Youth Tarabiyah Conference are available upon request.

These leaflets can be given out at your local Masajid after Jumuah in the weeks coming up to the Youth Tarabiyah Conference. They may be also distributed in other places frequented by Muslim youths and left on the counters of fast food outlets and barber shops.

Travel Arrangements
Arrangements can be made at your local Masajid or alternatively individuals can arrange their own transport to Madinatul Uloom. Maps and directions can be provided upon request.

Announcements
In the weeks running up to the Youth Tarbiyah Conference approach your local Masajid and request announcements to be made in Jumuah informing the congregation of the upcoming conference.

For those who have previously attended the conference speak to others about your experiences and the benefit one can derive by merely listening to the Ulema of Haq.
